THE MISSION OF ORITAMEFA BAPTIST MISSION SCHOOLS:
To provide a high quality education where Christian and moral principles are applied to develop students to live lives of integrity in a godly environment where staff are fully motivated and empowered.
The idea of starting a secondary school was conceived about fourteen years ago (1996) when it was discovered that:
Most of our prospective secondary school students were roaming the streets as a result of the incessant strikes embarked upon by teachers in the public secondary schools in Oyo State. Also, most of the brilliant students from Oritamefa Baptist School could not be absorbed into International school, Ibadan because of lack of space. Many were forced to travel long distances to attend the Federal Government School, a situation which led to accident, and sometimes, death of Children during the long journeys.
The Journey So Far: Though the beginning was rough, the school weathered the storm and grew in leaps and bounds. The pioneer principal of the school, Mrs. Bolanle Olabisi and her members of staff worked tirelessly to ensure that the school’s name is etched in the sand of time.
With the help of the Almighty, the school has witnessed an unprecedented development over the last fourteen years.
The school now has about one thousand two hundred students, fifty three teachers and fifteen non – teaching staff.
Academic success of the students of OBMS Total Garden started bringing trophies for winning competitions with old schools, that have gained fame in Oyo State. In addition, the students got excellent results in external examinations OBMS student – Opeyemi, Akanbi was rated 2nd best in West Africa in the Senior School Certificate Examination of 2002/2003 Academic session, the school was rated 5th in the nation and 1st in Oyo State in the WAEC Senior School Certificate Examination.
